A village in Bangladesh is a small social and territorial unit that is used for administrative and representative purposes. It is an elective unit of a Union Council, and one council member is elected from each village. Typically, one village is designated as a ward, and each union is made up of nine villages.

Agriculture provides the majority of the income in Bangladesh’s villages. Agriculture has had a significant impact on the way of life in rural Bangladesh, since many farming celebrations have been observed from antiquity. Farming is the main occupation of most of the village people in Bangladesh. Once there was a time, the villagers were engaged in farming only a few crops like rice, jute and some selected crops .But now they have become more diversified. Now, you will see farmer farming fruits, Vegetables, Flowers, fishes, poultry etc.



Bangladesh is a land of rivers, and fish abound in these waterways. The primary source of income for those who live beside these rivers is fishing. A fisherman leads a tough and resilient life. However, the tradition that gives you the impression that every piece of art created in Bangladesh embodies life with realization is the song performed by the fisherman in the midst of the rivers.



Some people also run their family by pottering. There are many pottery villages in Bangladesh where majority of people earn their livelihood by making various crafts with bronze, brass and mud. These potteries carry the culture and tradition of our country. The potters make daily necessaries, toys and crafts for home decor.
Hospitality of Village People:



The village people are very hospitable. At first, they will greet you with a sweet smile. They will talk and ask about your well-being, and you can never realize that you are talking with them first. They will make you feel so close that you have never thought to be. You will be served with various delicious, fresh, handmade foods that you will remember for the rest of your life.
House in Village:


In villages, the houses are not like cities. You will see tin-shed houses in villages. Besides, there are houses made of clay with thatched roof. In summer season, you will feel cool if you live in the house made of clay and in rainy season you will hear the musical pitter-patter sound of rain in tin-shed house that you can never have in a brick built house.
Fairs & Festivels:



Village fairs are held in nearly every village in Bangladesh. These ceremonies typically take place on the eve of Eid, Puja, the birth anniversary of a prominent personality, the Bengali New Year, and so on. People conserve money while waiting for the fair to be held. During the fair, they spend their saved money on various things.
Wedding at Village:



Weddings in the village are really lovely. They execute a variety of ceremonies at the wedding. Normally, no one wants to miss the village wedding. The neighbors are the most curious during the wedding, and the youngsters express their joy by rushing to and from, setting off fireworks, dancing, and so on. During village weeding, the bride travels to her in-law’s residence in an interesting palanquin, while the groom walks alongside her newlywed bride.
Entertainment:



Entertainment in a village is really different. The village youngsters engage in a variety of amusing games, including kanamachi, dariyabandha, and gollachut. Males go to enjoy folk songs and jatrapala. Females, on the other hand, enjoy gossiping with one another after work. The village residents spend their leisure time playing amusing activities. They play on a large field, most likely a school field, where the entire village gathers to enjoy sports. Some games include Kababi, Bolokhela, Bullfighting, and others.



Actually village itself is a beauty because everywhere it is green, fresh, calm and quiet where you can find the true essence of life. Always it is decorated with the ornaments of nature like trees, birds, fresh air and at every season it changes its decoration with time. Sometimes it hides itself into fog and sometimes gets wet in water. Sometimes it smiles with sun and sometimes plays with trees and flowers.
Haat in Village:



A market place where people get all the commodities are called haat . In every village there is a haat that sits once or twice a week and you will find all fresh commodities here. Farmers bring everything from their farms. The people wait for this haat day. On this day, they sell their products, earn money and purchase the necessary things for them.
